Blended Green Healing Juice

As you can tell from this website and my Instagram I’m passionate about foods that heal the body and mind. I’ve not found anything that does that better and honestly changes the skin more than fresh juice.

While I use to be one to pay $9-12 for a green juice, I just can’t justify that anymore with a family. So I really try to make most of these at home with the exception of a random outing when I’m really craving juice for my body.

Blended juices are great because they do have some benefits that regular juices do not and that is the fiber. Especially if you want all the benefits of the fruit and veggies you are juicing, its nice at times to just drink a blended version to get all of the benefits. Fruits and veggies are loaded with so many polyphenols or otherwise called, antioxidants. These nutrients protect the body’s tissues against oxidative stress that can cause inflammation and lead to diseases and even cancer in the body. Wherever I can get in antioxidants, I try to do it!

For blended juices you also don’t have to worry about all of the excess cleanup with the pulp and the pieces of the juicer. Its so much easier to just throw it all in a blend! I just use a Vitamix (or a blender)! I like the vitamix because it does a really good job of getting it nice and smooth (or as smooth as you can get a juice).

Make sure all of your fruits and veggies are chopped and washed ahead of time. Also having them cut in advance makes it a lot easier. The most challenging for blended juices are citrus fruits but you can just use a lemon juicer to juice those so you don’t get all the bitter taste of the pulp around the fruit.

With all that, let’s get to the good stuff.

Ingredients:

  • 2 stalks celery chopped

  • 1 juiced lime

  • 1 juiced lemon

  • 1 juiced grapefruit

  • 1 - 1/2 apples chopped and de-cored

  • 1 handful spinach

  • 6-8 oz filtered water

Directions:

  1. Rinse and chop all fruit. For the citrus fruits juice them with a handheld or manual juicer. If you don’t have one you can just squeeze the juice from the from after cutting it in half. You will do this for the lime, lemon and the grapefruit.

  2. Rinse and chop the apples and celery and throw them into the citrus juice

  3. Add one handful of spinach

  4. Add in the filtered water. You can add more or less depending on how thick you want this.

  5. Blend until smooth.

You will honestly see noticeably glowing skin within a week of just incorporating any of these juices a day! Try it and I’d love hear your feedback!
