Energy Boosting Green Goji Smoothie Bowl
One of my favorite things when the weather warms up is to make smoothie bowls for most meals! I’m a huge fan of the thick and creamy version when I just want to enjoy eating rather than drinking my nutrients!
However, the smoothie serves it purpose for me definitely on-the-go! I’ve made so many combos over the years I wanted to start sharing them on here as well with my other recipes. Its so easy to create combos if you have a base set of ingredients in you kitchen. Some of my base ingredients are as follows:
Frozen fruit of all kinds including bananas peeled and halved or even quartered, strawberries, blueberries, cherries, peaches, and etc.
Unsweetened coconut flakes
Chia Seeds
Hemp Seeds
Nut butters of all kinds ranging from peanut, cashew, almond and sunflower
unsweetened cacao nibs and powder (this is the highest grade of cocoa beans and has the highest amount of antioxidants.)
Non Dairy milks ranging from flax milk, oat milk, almond milk, cashew milk, hemp milk, and etc.
Plant protein powders of all kinds. I usually like vanilla and I’ll add in cacao if I want it chocolaty. (Look for my favorite proteins in an upcoming post)
Green powders like spirulina, Moringa powder and blended fruit and veggie powders
High performance powders like Maca
Superfoods including all of the above then I also have things like Goji berries, baobab powder and any new superfoods I may see and want to try.
Fresh leafy greens like spinach, kale, collard greens and etc.
Not that you need ALL of these! Its just a good idea to have a couple in your back pocket to really jazz up a smoothie. However, if you just have the basics, like nut milk, protein, some frozen fruit, fresh veggies and a superfood or two that’s it!
For this smoothie I definitely added more pizazze than normal because I wanted to enjoy and savor a creamy bowl BUT I’m including directions for both a smoothie drink and bowl!
