Jalapeño Salmon Salad (GF)
One of the easiest and best alternatives if you grew up on Tuna fish but now it makes you gag, this is a far superior alternative in my opinion!
It’s a great GO-TO protein source if you eat fish. Tons of protein, Omegas and great for the gut! A mix up of your old favorite chicken or tuna salad.
I’ll keep it short and simple like this recipe just one thing to note here when buying canned salmon or anything to buy BPA free cans. These days, it usually says on on the can and depending on the store, some stores only sell the BPA free cans. I got my salmon from Sprouts - see the link here - and its definitely my favorite canned salmon but I also love the Wild planet salmon or tuna for that matter if you’re buying canned fish!
Now, let’s get to the recipe!
Ingredients:
2 cans Canned Salmon - I used Sprouts Wild Caught Pink Salmon
1/2 fresh Jalapeño (or more if you want more spice!)
2 stalks celery
2 tbsp Primal Kitchen Avocado Mayo
1 tbsp Spicy Brown Mustard
1/2 medium-sized red onion
1/4 cup whole milk yogurt (I like Stonyfield Organic Plain Yogurt)
Directions:
Drain and rinse your canned salmon. Once it rinsed and drained, place into a large bowl for mixing.
Chop all of your veggies including jalapeño, celery and onion. Place into bowl with your salmon.
Add the wet ingredients including the mayo, mustard and yogurt. Mix all ingredients together until mixed well.
Eat as is or add to your favorite salad! Store in the fridge in a safe container with a lid preferably, and keep for up to 3-4 days for best freshness!
