Roasted Garlic Hummus
If you’re looking to change up your hummus game and want to have a creamy texture with some zing, then this is your jam!
It’s so easy to make your own hummus its just about getting creative and diversifying the flavors to make it work with what you’re craving. I’ll usually make these in batches for the week for myself and my family.
At this point, store bought hummus doesn't even strike my taste buds because it carries that artificial taste and they typically all include sugar - which is unfortunate and unexpected for many.
Super easy all you need is a blender or your go-to device for blending well. I love my Vitamix and it does a bang up job with really creating the smoothness you look for in foods like this or even soups. However, this recipe can quite literally be done with ANY blender.
Let’s get to the point
Ingredients:
2 cans chickpeas rinsed and drained or freshly cooked chickpeas
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup tahini
1/2 sprig fresh rosemary or sage
3-4 cloves of roasted garlic *see directions below for how to get this.
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
1 1/12-2 cups filtered water *this can vary depending on the device so start here and add more if you want a creamier consistency.
1/2 tsp sea salt
Directions:
Rinse and drain chickpeas. Pour into blender.
Add in olive oil, tahini, garlic, rosemary, lemon juice, sea salt and water. Blend and stir and if needed add more water.
Blend until you achieve desired consistency and serve or place airtight reusable containers for storage in the refrigerator.
Serving Size = 2 TBSP / Approx Total Servings = 15-18
